THE PRESENT STRUGGLES IN CHRISTIANITY
The church is a Holy place. It should be only for worship and other relevant activities that are a dedication to the Almighty. Since God works through people, He has messengers who are inspired by the Holy Spirit to assist in his mighty deeds. But what happens today? This is a question that I think each and every individual or Christian should ask themselves.
Preaching was once a gift of the Holy Spirit but now it is a profession. There are masters, degrees, certificates and also diplomas for preaching. Pastors who undergo this; preach using the same method, same facts and same thinking. If you are to interview them, their spiritual depths are the same. The early spiritual leaders were very natural because God was the one talking through them (received an individual calling to start the work). In churches nowadays the preachers have just lost it.
A fish rots from the head and the head in this case in the church are the spiritual leaders. Catholic was the first church in the world, so it acts as the head in the world. Early last year the Catholic fathers were saying that they need to be allowed to marry wives. The key point was that they also have feeling as other human beings. According to the catholic laws, a father should not marry. As a product of this the spiritual leaders of the Catholic Church have split into two. One group of fathers supports marriage and the other opposes the act. The worst part is that they only complain of the tight rules after there undercover behaviors have been discovered.
Before you are sworn in as a father or a priest you have to agree to compile with the rules. This is a case of how selfish and how people view religion as a place for play and jokes. There are many religions which have rules that you can compile with why not switch instead of complicating the minds of others. There was a case in Kenya in the past years when a priest’s house was robbed. When investigators went to confirm a 9year old girl was found in the backyard. What was she doing? That still remains as a hanging question. In the Bible it is clearly stated that marriage is not a sin, the sin is pretending. Why is this very hard to follow?
There is a pending case of one father Kizito in the Kenyan courts. Apparently he was sodomizing orphaned boys. There is clear evidence because he has been shooting porn movies that include the small boys. He sells the movies to Italy. Because he knew that locally he would be caught. The boys have been interviewed and they confess that all said is true, but he is still denying.
‘They are out to get me, for money’ he said.
But all is well some of the movies have been recovered and now there is tangible evidence. Recently an American evangelist Mr. Manton has faced porn charges. Some fathers were also supporting homosexuality even though they know that it is wrong. Homosexuality was being propagated by the Anglican Church. Spiritual leaders are also running for presidency, in Kenya pastor pius muiro is a good example. There should not be mixing God and politics.
In my beloved country, the church is like a source of WEALTH. When you go to most churches you will find pastors who take most of the sermon time talking and emphasizing on offerings. This is to entice the people to offer more and then you are given a wide offering basket. Other churches do not allow an offering in the form of coins only notes and they specify from what amount. Offering should be a secret between you and your GOD.
There is too much drama in church and it needs to stop for the better of Christianity. The church is holy and should not be a place to satisfy our own needs whether bodily or economically. Some may view it as easy money but there are curses lined up for you. Let the ones who have the gift do it.

As Christians what are we doing about it?

I just became a Christian a month ago and it was the best experience in my life. You could say it was life changing. But I have also noticed the problems you had addressed in this article in our country, the Philippines. Especially church leaders facing different charges. Anyway, as Christians, I think it will help us preserve the pureness of Christianity by being discerning. We should be able to see and choose the right people that we are going to follow in our spiritual growth. Really, God gave us intelligence for the purpose of choosing the right path that will lead us to His glorious kingdom and I guess as an individual, we can do that.

Dear Antonette Mae Macaso,

Thank you very much for your comment.
I also had the same thought and i feel very happy knowing that some Christians are strong and also willing to do this on their own. I think what people should know is that religion is individual and nobody is in control of what you decide to do.So it is up to you to make good decisions.

Again thank you for for the comment.

Thank you,
Lavender
