Are the main candidates prepared to elections campaign over the Internet? / Época magazine
, Brazil, July 10 -- During the last president elections, on 2006, the Internet users totals 32 millions, nowdays, the numbers increased more than 100%, they are about 66 millions now. These data were published by Ibope and indorse the importance that the Web has during the elections on October 2010.

The laws are fitting to new reality, this can be proved due to the changes that our electoral legislation is suffering. It became much more opened and began to recognize the difference between the mainstream media and the new media. But, nevertheless, what people know as ‘Obamization’ may not occur around here, at least for a while. Even though, everyone can see that the main candidates to the greatest executive position heavily invest in the Internet.

The campaigns still must keep most of the efforts on TV and radio broadcasting, because, together, these media reach almost 100% of Brazilians; one thing that don’t occur to the Internet. Even though the candidates started to think about the future and they realize the importance of new media like social networks (Twitter, Facebook and Twitter) and other like blogs and websites.
