I really enjoy writing news and magazine features, especially profile pieces and on topics such as politics, activism and interesting lifestyles. I also enjoy shoe-leather and investigative journalism, photojournalism, blogging and social media.

Bio:
I just graduated cum laude from James Madison University with a degree in media arts and design, concentrating in journalism, and sociology. I have been a writer, designer, photographer and editor for newspapers, magazines and online publications for several years. I have also won multiple scholarships and awards for my writing and photography from organizations such as the Society of Professional Journalists and the American Copy Editors Society.


Ultimately, I would love to be an investigative reporter, travel magazine writer and university professor. In my spare time I enjoy volunteering, reading, cycling, traveling and taking photos.

I am currently the UPIU Community Engagement Intern in Washington, D.C. I use social media tools to promote UPIU and engage UPIU users, as well as promote UPIU programs to colleges and universities. I also monitor UPIU for trending stories, recruit UPIU reporters for assignments, and work closely with UPIU's senior mentor.
