What really matters is not bringing the women to a higher level, but to bring in the ones worth to stand as a role model in their moral values and achievements. Again, not personal, self-serving achievements but those serving a higher cause than one-self.

For instance, we all know that violence comes in different aspects, none less horribly harmful than the other. We might want to investigate the background and moral values of some, and what hides behind the well-manicured, fake sophistication of their social image. We might want to ask and investigate before nurturing the public praises.

Let's ask Regina Kantara, for instance, about her 90-year old mother whose entire assets she has snatched in 2008, her ex-husband found 'shot' a week before her TV appearance, her brother whom she had totally destroyed in Africa and who ended inconsequences in a mental hospital to-date, and the families of 2 of her brothers who are still enduring hardships after exploiting her brothers to throw them out without resources.
Let's ask her what was she doing in her ex-husband's house the eve of his demise, and why she was the last seen coming out? Let's ask her why did she throw out from her ex-husband's house all the guests during the condolences in Beit Mery, then took the furniture out without the consent of the heirs? Let's ask her how did she misuse the power of attorney which her mother has entrusted her to then transfer all the assets into her name, including the house her old sick mother lives in in Sahel Alma? Let's ask her why is she still fighting the inheritance of the widow and orphans of her late brother, impeding them a decent life since 2003?

Many question marks...

It all sounds great when we read the amazing standpoints of some. We all must realize that violence has different faces or aspects, and none is less horrible than the others, for all are terribly harmful.

For example, It would be though more truthful and honest to ask Regina Kantara about her own deeds against her own family, her ex-husband found 'shot', her 90 year old mother whose all assets she 'took' without consent, the destruction of 2 of her brothers's families, and the misery which these families have been enduring till date. Worth investigating the background behind the social manicured shell before making of women like her a public image to praise.

Interesting article, Christina. I would suggest that you clarify you are referring to Lebanon in the first paragraph. Also, a photo (with proper photo credit, of course) would be a great addition to your already captivating story. I look forward to reading more of your work.
