This feature pushes a lot of buttons that don’t normally get pushed in coverage of Islam. The concepts are well preserved in the interview format, letting Knight make all the points in his words. There wasn’t much to edit in this piece because it was well written and the ideas are too crisp to change. This story presents ideas on Islam that rarely are expressed in any forum. The one missing element is documentation of the statement about religious leaders. Reaction from them would have been illuminating.
