About Isaac

"Daredevil", "wordsmith", "news junkie" and "free spirited individual" are a few of the adjectives others have used to describe Isaac Pacheco. Isaac is a prior-service Marine, an internationally-published photojournalist, a National Press Club member and a magna cum laude graduate of George Mason University (Communications B.A.).

Isaac has served as editor and contributor to a number of military publications and journals including, Leatherneck Magazine and American Veteran magazine. During his time in the Marine Corps, he deployed to Iraq as a military journalist and radio DJ for American Forces Network. Isaac is currently the senior managing editor of Reservist Magazine for the Department of Homeland Security.

As a working professional in the field of journalism for the last nine years, Isaac's interests have revolved around New Media, multimedia development, cross-cultural communication, global media and politics, globalization and news content delivery systems. When he's not thwarting terrorists on land, sea and air, or putting in 60+ hour work weeks, Isaac keeps himself awake with graduate classes in media & politics at Georgetown University, and with extreme sports.

"Anything fast, dangerous and/or 'not recommended to try at home' is my preferred fare. To catch me running a marathon, rafting a treacherous stretch of whitewater or navigating a rocky, single-track downhill on my mountain bike is to catch me at my most content."

Very captivating pictures indeed.
I like the way your pictures communicate, as in when I look at the pictures i get the message passed accross. They are also very nice in terms of composition and beauty (aesthetic placement)
Keep it up!

Great pictures Isaac,
They are very very good, in terms of the angle, the composition and even the lighting.
I am doing a photography class in school now, and it's great to see such photos for an inspiration.
Keep up the good work.
Cheers.

Great topic, and great picture to go along with it!
It seems like your story really is about your specific examples, which means that you need to move up all of that information to the second paragraph, and/or maybe even punch up your lead with a reference to them.
It would be great to get a comment from Susan Sontag directly, rather than quoting from her book. Or a photography professor or a sociology professor might be a good bet for a quote.
Commentary about your topic, if included at all, should be at the end.
With just a little bit more reporting, this story would be a great candidate for UPI.com!

Great pictures and cutlines tell a good story about the recent snowstorm! It would be good to get the names of the people in the pictures, as that definitely draws more interest and attention. All in all, a nice package.
